VINCENNES, Ind. - Conflict, hypocrisy, treachery, and deceit - sounds like the formula for a blockbuster movie or a highly watched television drama.

But long before movies and television there was the stage, where stories rich in imagination were played out live by talented actors.

A cast of talented performers will take to the stage in the 日韩中文字幕福利片 Theatre program鈥檚 presentation of Moli猫re鈥檚 鈥淭artuffe鈥� (or 鈥淭he Hypocrite鈥�) for four performances beginning April 11 at VU鈥檚 Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. (EDT) on April 11, 12, 13, and at 2 p.m. on April 14. Admission is $12 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for non-VU students. VU students and employees will be admitted free with their University ID.

Community members as well as VU students will be featured in the cast and crew of 鈥淭artuffe.鈥� VU students include Garrett Barrasas, Hobart; Jaime Boyles-Taraschke, Evansville; Swarsattie Brown, Pendleton; Sutton Cuevas, Valparaiso; Jaydon Edwards, Hazleton; Kristen Heshelman, Elnora; Amber Hill, Huntingburg; Jessica Mansfield, Indianapolis; Jay McFarland, McCordsville; Hannah Mohr, Thorntown; Jake Sexton, Bloomington; and Jordyn Wesner, Martinsville. Community members include Kyle Gregory, Megan Gregory, and Forrest 鈥淏ud鈥� East.

Controversial and popular from the time of its release, Moli猫re鈥檚 鈥淭artuffe鈥� remains a biting satire aimed at religious hypocrisy. When the kind yet dim Orgon invites the religious zealot known as Tartuffe into his home, he has no idea that he has accepted a snake into his den. While Tartuffe acts like a kind minister, he is - in fact - a con man plotting to rob Orgon of everything he holds dear! While Orgon becomes hopelessly entranced by Tartuffe, his family rallies to expose Tartuffe for the rascal that he is. Will they be able to save the hapless Orgon from Tartuffe鈥檚 clutches?
