"When I began I was leaning towards becoming a history teacher but quickly decided against it. It was my advisor who suggested I take more political science classes due to my positive experiences in my previous classes. With her help and a couple letters of recommendation from other professors in the history and political science department, I was chosen.

Had it not been for my amazing professors and advisor in the history and political science department at VU, I never would have been able to spend 4 months in Washington, D.C. I met ambassadors, state and federal legislators, and CEOs of major companies among others. I even got to witness a presidential election firsthand.
