U.S. healthcare is very expensive. As an institution, we encourage all international
students to have health insurance at all times during their stay at VU. The benefit
of having health insurance is it covers your health costs once you have fulfilled
the condition.
In the past, students have chosen PSI as their health insurance provider.
Minimum Coverage
You may also have your own health insurance, the university just ask you to ensure
that it fulfills the following requirement:
- Medical Benefit - Minimum Requirement is $100,000
- Repatriation of Remains - Minimum Requirement is $25,000
- Medical Evacuation - Minimum Requirement is $50,000
- Deductible per accident or illness - Minimum Requirement is $500
If not, we will assist you with purchasing health insurance when you arrive. Please
estimate $700 for one year of health insurance coverage. Health insurance expenses
will not be included in your school tuition bill.
